App Store and Google Play research, in six short videos
Each video answers one question indie app founders ask: how much an app makes, how to find a profitable niche, which apps gross the most, how to research keywords, how to track competitors, and how to put App Store and Google Play data into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor. Each runs two to three minutes on real GetAppNiche screens, with no voice-over, recorded on October 16, 2026. Every video has its own page with chapters and the full transcript.

How much does an app make?
GetAppNiche shows how much an app makes: monthly revenue and downloads for any App Store or Google Play app, right on its store page, in the web app and in your AI assistant via MCP. Example in the video: Audible on the US App Store, then a whole Google Play keyword search and Duolingo in the web app.

How do you find a profitable app niche?
To find a profitable app niche, start from apps that already earn serious money, remove the giants with years of ratings, keep the apps launched in the last year, pick a category and zoom into the niche. Example in the video: CutAI, a young AI video editor with fewer than 1,000 ratings that out-earns a ten-year-old leader.

Which apps are the top grossing apps right now?
On October 16, 2026, YouTube led GetAppNiche's revenue ranking of US App Store apps, ahead of Muse from Meta and ChatGPT; on Google Play's own US top-grossing chart, Google One was #1. The video also opens one category's money chart (Health & Fitness) and one app up close (Cal AI).

How do you research App Store and Google Play keywords?
To research App Store and Google Play keywords, read the top 10 for each phrase: how many ratings the leaders have, how many use the phrase in their name, whether a small app ranks near the top, and what the top 10 earn. Example in the video: #1 for “calisthenics workout” on the US App Store had 995 ratings while #4 had 714K.

How do you track competitor apps?
To track a competitor app, use a listing-change timeline: GetAppNiche records new versions, icon and screenshot redesigns, description and price changes for App Store and Google Play apps. Example in the video: FINAL FANTASY VII on Google Play halved its price on Sep 11, 2026 and went back to full price on Sep 25; CHRONO TRIGGER ran the same sale.

The listing timeline in the first chapters is the GetAppNiche browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox: the newest change and one followed app are free; the full history and unlimited follows are Pro. How the extension works →

Can you use App Store and Google Play data in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor?
Yes. GetAppNiche runs a hosted MCP server at https://api.getappniche.com/mcp. Add it to Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, ChatGPT (Developer-mode connector), VS Code or any MCP client with a Pro API key, and the assistant can search apps and read revenue and downloads, change timelines, reviews and keyword difficulty itself.
