Answer · Famous app revenue
How much does Headspace make?
The last widely reported figure put Headspace around $300 million a year as a combined company after its 2021 Ginger merger. But here's the number nobody else publishes: by our independent estimate, the iOS app's App Store consumer spend is just $17.6K/month (snapshot August 18, 2026) — roughly 78× less than Calm's. That gap isn't a dying brand; it's a business that moved off Apple's rails into employer contracts, health plans and web billing.
Everything below separates company-reported figures from our labeled App Store estimates — the same model behind the free app revenue checker. For the whole niche's economics, see how much meditation apps make.

Category context
The meditation money chart
GetAppNiche estimates. Calm sits at #6 in all of Health & Fitness; Headspace's storefront signal doesn't even approach the category's top-10 floor. Both figures are labeled model estimates.
Context that makes the bar chart fair: Headspace's 4.84★ rating is the highest of any app in this series — users love the product. The tiny bar reflects where its revenue is billed, not its quality. Why the gap
Where Headspace's money actually flows
- B2B became the engine. Headspace for Work and the clinical care that arrived with Ginger sell to employers and health plans. None of that touches the App Store, so no storefront model — ours included — can see it.
- Web billing skips Apple's cut. A $69.99/year subscription sold on headspace.com keeps the margin Apple would take. Mature subscription brands push hard in that direction; the App Store number shrinks even while the business doesn't.
- Honest model limits. Store-signal models read public storefront activity. When a storefront goes quiet, the estimate reads low — that's a feature (it measures the store, honestly), but it's why we label every figure and publish the reasoning next to it.
FAQ
Headspace revenue — quick answers
How much money does Headspace make?
Company side: Headspace is private; the last widely reported figure put the combined Headspace-plus-Ginger business around $300 million a year at their 2021 merger, and the company hasn't disclosed revenue since. Our independent App Store estimate reads Headspace's iOS storefront at just $17.6K/month in modeled consumer spend (snapshot August 18, 2026) — a striking gap, and the gap itself is the answer: most Headspace revenue today flows through employer contracts, health plans and web subscriptions that never bill through Apple.
What is Headspace's annual revenue?
Not officially disclosed. The most-cited figure is roughly $300 million a year for the combined Headspace Health at the time of the 2021 Ginger merger. Annualizing our iOS App Store consumer-spend estimate gives only about $211K for the storefront we track — evidence of how little of the business now runs through the App Store, not of a small company.
Does Calm make more money than Headspace?
In the App Store, by our estimates, yes — and it isn't close: Calm's storefront estimate is $1.37M/month versus Headspace's $17.6K/month, roughly a 78× gap (snapshot August 18, 2026, both labeled estimates). Company-wide the picture is much closer, because Headspace leans on B2B and web billing that our storefront model deliberately doesn't count. Treat the direction as solid and the exact multiple as directional.
How does Headspace make money?
Three ways: consumer subscriptions (about $69.99/year, sold both in-app and on the web), Headspace for Work employer contracts, and health-plan/clinical offerings that came with the Ginger merger. Only the in-app slice of the first bills through Apple — which is why its App Store footprint is so much smaller than its brand.
Are these numbers exact?
No. The ~$300M figure is merger-era reporting, not a current audited number, and our $17.6K/month is a labeled estimate from GetAppNiche's proprietary multi-signal model, snapshot August 18, 2026. Quiet storefronts are exactly where store-signal models are least precise — we publish the number because it's honest about what the App Store itself shows, not as a claim about total company revenue.
